Behind DataOne

Charles-Antoine Beyney

Charles-Antoine Beyney is the co-founder of DataOne, the company building sustainable AI infrastructure at hyperscale. His work centers on proving that AI-scale compute and environmental responsibility can be compatible and create something great: DataOne's facilities run on on-site power generation and closed-loop cooling that uses virtually no water, are ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certified, and are engineered specifically for the density of modern AI/GPU workloads.

Two decades building infrastructure, one thesis

Beyney has spent over 26 years founding and building infrastructure companies, several of them through to successful exits, alongside long-time business partner Michael Ourabah. In 2004, the two co-founded BSO, the mission-critical network and infrastructure company from which DataOne would eventually emerge; Beyney serves as BSO's Chairman today.

In 2012, while still building BSO's European networking business, Beyney founded Etix Everywhere, a Luxembourg-based data center company built to bring hyperscale-grade infrastructure to underserved Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets (cities and regions the major operators were overlooking) Etix grew to operate in roughly 20 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Scandinavia, built on pre-industrialized, modular designs that could be deployed in as little as 16 weeks and on cooling systems designed to avoid drawing on potable water supplies; the same speed-and-sustainability combination DataOne is now scaling into gigawatt-class AI infrastructure. Etix was acquired by Vantage Data Centers in February 2020 as the anchor of Vantage's roughly $2 billion European hyperscale expansion.

Building DataOne

Founded in late 2024, DataOne's site portfolio includes a large-scale campus in Vineland, New Jersey, alongside Grenoble and Lyon in France: facilities sized for the newest GPU platforms and built to scale with demand.

Beyond DataOne

Beyney is also an active angel investor, with a portfolio spanning electrical equipment, computing peripherals, and productivity software, including investments in Osol, UPMEM, and Cleeng.
