Behind DataOne

Charles-Antoine Beyney

Co-Founder of DataOne

Charles-Antoine Beyney is the co-founder of DataOne, a company specializing in the development of next-generation, large-scale infrastructure purpose-built for artificial intelligence.

His vision is driven by a fundamental belief: the immense computing power required to advance artificial intelligence can and must go hand in hand with energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.

This commitment is reflected in DataOne’s infrastructure design: on-site power generation, closed-loop cooling systems that drastically reduce water consumption, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certifications, and architectures specifically engineered to meet the power and density requirements of the latest generations of GPUs.

Over 26 Years of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Critical Infrastructure

With more than 26 years of entrepreneurial experience, Charles-Antoine Beyney has founded, built, and scaled several companies specializing in technology infrastructure, successfully guiding a number of them through strategic exits.

In 2004, he co-founded BSO alongside Michael Ourabah. The company expanded into high-performance international networks and critical infrastructure, laying the foundations for an entrepreneurial ecosystem from which DataOne would eventually emerge.

In 2011, while continuing to develop BSO’s European network operations, he founded Etix DataCenter, marking another milestone in his entrepreneurial journey and achieving his first successful exit in the data center industry.

He continued this trajectory by establishing Etix Everywhere, a pioneer in edge data centers, which progressively expanded its footprint to approximately ten countries across Europe, Africa, and South America.

From the outset, Charles-Antoine Beyney championed an industrial approach built around modularity, rapid deployment, and environmental sustainability. Etix Everywhere developed infrastructure solutions capable of being deployed in as little as 16 weeks, incorporating innovative cooling technologies designed to preserve freshwater resources.

This philosophy—combining speed of execution, technological innovation, and energy efficiency—remains central to DataOne’s approach today, now applied to AI infrastructure projects measured in hundreds of megawatts, with ambitions extending to gigawatt-scale developments.Etix Everywhere was sold in February 2020.

DataOne: A New Industrial Vision for Artificial Intelligence

Founded in late 2024, DataOne represents both the continuation of Charles-Antoine Beyney’s entrepreneurial journey and a new chapter in the development of digital infrastructure at unprecedented scale.

The company is developing a major data center campus in Vineland, New Jersey, while also operating facilities in Grenoble and Lyon, France.

Engineered to support the latest generations of GPUs and the rapidly growing demands of artificial intelligence workloads, these facilities combine ultra-high-density computing, advanced energy management, and optimized resource utilization.

Through DataOne, Charles-Antoine Beyney is pursuing a clear ambition: to demonstrate that world-class AI infrastructure can be deployed rapidly and at scale, with energy efficiency and environmental sustainability embedded in its design from the very beginning.

Investor and Supporter of Entrepreneurship

Beyond his operational leadership, Charles-Antoine Beyney is also an active business angel, investing in companies across a range of technology-intensive sectors.

His investment philosophy reflects a longstanding commitment to fostering innovation, supporting ambitious entrepreneurs, and helping bring forward technologies with the potential to transform industries and create lasting value.
